The campaign combined an interactive awareness session with a hands-on community clean-up, helping participants understand how illegal dumping and waste burning contribute to air pollution and health risks. More importantly, employees were given the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice by working together to remove unmanaged waste from the surrounding area.
The results were tangible. Together, participants collected 940 kg of waste across 180 refuse bags, helping restore the targeted area while reducing pollution risks associated with unmanaged waste. The campaign also brought together Sankofa Solutions, Ecolab, Nalco, The Big Red Barn, and Eagles Church, demonstrating how collaboration can turn environmental responsibility into meaningful community action.
What made the campaign stand out was its simple but powerful approach: learn, act, and inspire others to do the same. Participants left with a stronger understanding of air quality and a renewed sense of responsibility for the environments in which they work and live. The initiative showed that when businesses and communities work together, even a single day of action can create a lasting ripple toward cleaner spaces and healthier air.
