This month we celebrate the power of play-based learning and how small, joyful moments at home and in your ECD centres are building stronger futures for our children. It was a fun and reflective session as members shared indigenous games they played as children and discussed the different learning benefits these games offered, as well as how they now adapt and bring them into their classrooms in a modern way. Members also raised challenges, noting that play can sometimes become chaotic and difficult to manage, particularly due to limited space for outdoor play in many centres. Resource constraints were also highlighted.
