Simon heads the CWP Programme for the Seriti Institute. He joined Seriti Institute in March 2010 as a technical support manager and immediately got immersed into the CWP. This was during a period when the program had just found a new home in DCoG, from the Presidency, and was being taken to scale. An exciting period indeed, as he got exposed to the inception of new sites while honing his skills in stakeholder engagement as well as overall program management and delivery.

He went on to set up new CWP sites in the North West Province and was later appointed as the Provincial Manager. He also worked with AfriGrow in the Anglo American Platinum Belt Projects responsible for stakeholder relationship management and cooperative management support. In recognition of his work and experience in program delivery, he was recently appointed a Cluster Manager for Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga; a challenge he is eager to take on.    

His working career began at Society for Family Health as a reproductive health trainer responsible for conducting road shows at high schools in the townships around Gauteng as well as in the mines. Having had an urge to move into the corporate world, he joined M-tel in the retail cellular division as a Sales Consultant and later moved to I-Talk Cellular as a Corporate Sales Consultant. During this period, he gained a lot of valuable experience in the GSM/Cellular industry as well as customer relationship management.

The entrepreneurial bug bit and he went on to team up with a friend and started an IT services company that specialised in the electronic distribution of pre-paid products into the low income segment of the market. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the company was wound down and he went back into the cellular world, joining the Corporate Sales division at Nashua Mobile.

After a successful three years at Nashua Mobile, an exciting opportunity presented itself for him to become a partner in a Restaurant business, a dream he has always had. It turned out to be a short lived dream that came with an invaluable experience in running a business; however, it had to come to a premature end due to differences in approach to business. Before joining Seriti, he was a Network Manager tasked with setting up a Digital Media network in liquor outlets in the townships around Gauteng for One Digital Media. This network was set up to create an advertising platform for the liquor companies and associated in liquor outlets.
