Kwanda Brand Klothing is a chic urban sportswear collection for both men and women. The collection is contemporary with an urban feel that is influenced by hip-hop culture with much use of denim fabrics and a modern approach to the Hoodie aesthetic.
The Kwanda Brand Klothing Project (KBK) was developed within the scope of the Kwanda TV project. This innovative approach to fashion and development has been created as a sustainable job creation mechanism which will endure beyond the Kwanda TV series.
KBK works closely with the sewing groups that are taking part in the Kwanda TV series to produce and manufacture this striking range. The teams are from:
- Kwakwatsi in the Free State
- Pefferville in East London
- Tjakastad in Mmpumalanga
- Lephephane in Limpopo
- Mthwalume in KwaZulu Nata
The implementation and process of KBK involves six recent fashion graduates from South African fashion institutions: Tinyiko Baloyi, Mongezi Xweso, Molefi Mohapi, Tebogo Lehlabi, Mfuneka Macu, Archie Monyepao and American fashion designer Selven O'Keef Jarmon.
